My dear friend's DIL is due in early February and were back for Christmas, so she wanted to have a baby shower for her while Son and DIL were home. I made 24 of the pocket invites....and, yes, I must have been crazy to create 24 that really shouldn't be mass produced. The panel on each invite has 8 'quilt blocks' that were each sponged with Close to Cocoa and then quilted with a zig-zag stitch to PTI Summer Sunrise. The PTI Summer Sunrise layer on the flap was embossed using the Piercerabilities Victorian Border and then stencilled. These panels were also sponged with Close to Cocoa. I ran out of time to round the corners of the inserts and back pocket panel, which I think would have really topped it off. The order was given to me just before Christmas, which made it even more silly to produce something that took so much time, but I enjoyed it.
The insert was created as a double invite using the computer to generate the lit. The one side was for Jessica's Hen Fest (Baby Shower), and the other side was for the guys to hang out with Nathan. We are one big group of couples that get together every time they come back home.
Love to hear what you think. TFL!
